A&R Solar is a job-creating, B-corp Certified, employee-owned, financially-sound, renewable energy company. What else could you ask for?
A&R was founded in 2007 by Andrew Yatteau and Reeves Clippard (Andy and Reeves– that’s why it’s A&R). Since then Andy, Reeves and their crew have installed hundreds of solar energy systems on the roofs of homes and commercial buildings around the Puget Sound. They’ve added over 750 Kilowatts of solar energy capacity, enough to drive an electric car 257,000 miles in a year, or brew almost 19 million pots of coffee!
They are expanding their business to accommodate the growing demand for renewable energy and you can be part of it!
We are looking to raise $20,000 to $30,000 to make huge improvements to our new company headquarters. We have been bootstrapping our business, making do with a small shared office in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood, yet we’ve now outgrown the space and are limited in our flexibility.
This upgrade allows us to put down roots for years to come in a thriving industrial neighborhood, close to our suppliers and right in a great transportation hub. Raising this growth capital with CSC helps us connect directly with the creative energy of our community and frees up resources to focus on what we do best: install solar energy systems throughout Washington.
We started A&R Solar with the idea of changing the way business was done in the world. We wanted to build a business structure that focused on respect for our employees, our customers, our community, and our planet. We believe that by aligning our personal values with our business, we will achieve incredible results.
We encourage you to get to know us. We believe you’ll find that you’re working with a different kind of company, one that shares your values. You’ll discover that what sets us apart is that we care. We care about the details, the aesthetics, the performance, the longevity, and most importantly, we care about our customers’ goals.
Our purpose is to build a great company, with great people, and great results. By helping homeowners and businesses embrace liberating technologies, we power what’s next.
We’re working for total sustainability — yours and the planet’s.
We see solar as a central part of a sustainable human existence. Each one of us has the power to affect the future of this planet. Not everyone has access to wind, biomass, or geothermal, but the sun shines on all of us.
Whether you see solar as the future of your home or your business, we understand it’s more than power. It’s a legacy for future generations. Something we can all be proud of.
Our business would be nothing without our community of customers, competitors, compatriots, friends, family, and like-minded enthusiasts. No business exists in a vacuum. A&R Solar thrives in a wonderful ecosystem of people– all working to make the world a better place.
We’re taking community to the next level with a commitment to local finance. We’re reaching out to our community (you!) to help us finance this project because, with your help, we can power what’s next!

"As a customer who got bids from several highly recommended installers, I think A&R Solar is the best residential solar company in the area. These guys are technically strong, advocate for effective statewide policy, listen to their customers, and are fun to spend time with. That makes me want to invest a few more dollars through Community Sourced Capital to help them succeed."
